Looking Good and Ready to Go

There’s just hours until Lincoln Fashion Week gets underway and Lincoln BIG has added a little extra sparkle to this stylish extravaganza!

It’s all systems go!

We’ve injected even more excitement into the week-long programme of events – which run from Friday (April 28) and culminate into an exciting catwalk show on May 5 – and which will feature something for all members of the family.

With hairdressers, stylists and make-up artists on standby, more than 100 models primed to strut their stuff and retailers galore pulling out all the stops with some great offers, it promises to be unmissable!

Remember, a party of retailers went on a fact-finding mission to the London Fashion Week Festival, courtesy of free First Class travel from Virgin Trains’ East Coast team, and they returned having seen the latest trends and ideas to incorporate into the city’s own special week.

Now, Miss Lincolnshire Daisy Pope is to put in an appearance on day one of the Lincoln Fashion Fair (April 29), in the Waterside Shopping Centre, where she will happy to pose at the “selfie station” on Saturday  at 12 noon.

We’re kicking off Lincoln Fashion Week on Friday, by encouraging people to visit one of five locations in the city – Bailgate, the Upper High Street, Waterside Shopping Centre, St Marks Shopping Centre and the Cornhill area – where they will be able to pick-up one of our exclusive fashion week tote bags and a programme for the week. (between 11am and 2pm.)

Head of Fashion Week Jess Wickham said: “People will also be able to visit up “Pop-Up box offices” at the Visit Information Centre in Castle Hill, in the Waterside Shopping Centre and at St Mark’s Shopping Centre, where they can buy tickets for our May 5 Catwalk Show in Alive Church in Newland, Lincoln.”

Both national and independent retailers are adding to the excitement by swapping their window mannequins with live models. Shoppers will be able to spot them at the St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice Shop at the top of High Street, in Primark, the Waterside Shopping Centre, Debenhams and Marks and Spencer, on Friday (April 28) from noon to 1pm.

Shoppers also have the chance to take a closer look at the latest clothing, shoes and accessories when visiting the Lincoln Fashion Fair at the Waterside Shopping Centre (April 29 to May 1).

On Monday, May 1, the planned Children’s Fashion Event at Debenhams at St Marks Shopping Centre has been slightly rescheduled to take place from 2pm and 5pm – giving families the chance to enjoy a spot of lunch first.

A superb Prom Night event, taking place at Debenhams on May 4, promises to be even more fun, after being extended to run from 5pm to 8pm especially for teenagers.

“There’s even more good news.  A special draw giving a lucky man and a young woman the chance to each win an outfit and makeover worth over £150, with hairstyling vouchers from Talking Heads. This event is free to attend, but people must get a ticket by visiting Eventbrite: lincolnfashionweekprom.eventbrite.co.uk

Lincoln Fashion Week culminates in a fantastic Catwalk Show in Alive Church, which includes the chance for people to sit in a VIP area, sponsored by Lincolnshire Co-operative and the Wig n’ Mitre.

“Everyone who attends the Show, which starts at 7pm, will get a free drink on arrival. But the celebrations don’t end there. Tickets also allow people entry to our fantastic After Show Party, at the At Home nightclub – with freedom to jump the queues!”

Tickets available online from www.visitlincoln.com/fashionfinale or at the door at Alive Church on the night.
