Fashion-lovers have the opportunity to help the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance create a stunning “Ball Room Boutique” in the heart of Lincoln during Lincoln Fashion Week 2018.

Ladies are being encouraged to dip into their wardrobes and to give once-loved evening, special occasion and prom fashions which they no longer wear, the chance of a new lease of life.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is Lincoln BIG’s official Charity partner for Lincoln Fashion Week and both are urging people to donate high-quality, pre-loved dresses, shoes, handbags and accessories for resale in the Air Ambulance’s unique pop-up Ball Room Boutique.

It will be set-up in The Waterside Shopping Centre and open daily throughout LFW, which runs from May 4 to 11.

The aim of the Ball Room Boutique is to raise money for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance charity, which is pulling out the stops to raise even more funds than ever so that it can move to 24/7 flying later this year.

Lincoln BIG Head of Fashion Jess Wickham said: “We’re hoping people will be motivated to help the charity by simply taking a closer look inside their wardrobes and donating garments and accessories, which are unnecessarily taking-up precious space but much too special to simply throw away.

“Donated garments, suitable for anything from a wedding to a day at the races or even a cruise are welcome.  We would also love to receive jewellery, shoes, bags, hats and fascinators – we’re sure they will all help to make the pop-up shop a real magnet for bargain-hunters and in turn help the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance raise vital funds so that it can continue to save lives 365 days a year!”

There are lots of “drop-off” points for Ball Room Boutique donations – where people will find collection boxes from April 16. All donations must be received by April 25, so that everything can be sorted in good time to display on the boutique clothes rails.

People can donate items at Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Shops in Lincoln High Street, Bracebridge Heath, Wragby, Market Rasen, Spalding or Ashby (near Scunthorpe).

Alternatively, items can be taken at collection points in Debenhams at Lincoln’s St Marks Shopping Centre; Waterside Shopping Centre and The White Hart Hotel in Bailgate.

During LFW, Lincoln BIG is circulating 5,000 flyers publicising our unmissable, action packed week – so we are also encouraging shoppers to pop into retail outlets, who are supporting our programme, pick-one up and claim a “surprise discount” on our 318 standard tickets for our fabulous, glittering LFW Catwalk Finale.

It takes place in Alive Church, in Newland on Friday, May 11.  Tickets are available online at: wwwlincolnfashionweek.

Models taking part in the LFW finale will be showcasing clothes from a range of stores, from Gere Menswear to Debenhams, M&S and outlets in the city’s Waterside Shopping Centre, as well as many independent boutiques.

LFW will also be focusing on accessories, hairstyling, beauty and wellbeing.

The main sponsors for the week are The Waterside Shopping Centre, St Marks Shopping Centre and the motor group Pentagon.  All have financially-backed LFW.
