Exciting new looks from the Fashion Designers and makers of tomorrow will be showcased during Lincoln Fashion Week (LFW).

University of Lincoln fashion degree students will be lifting the lid on the innovative work they have been developing in the studio, at LFW’s glittering catwalk finale on May 17.

The not-to-be-missed show, is taking place in Lincoln Cathedral, so get your tickets now!

Senior Lecturer Dagmara Childs said: “Third year students on our BA (Hons) Fashion course are currently working on a range of individual projects, but are all expected to consider the current, key global issue of “sustainability” within their creative approaches.

“Our students will be entering a variety of career paths, with the opportunity to work as designers, illustrators, pattern cutters and garment technologists within the fashion industry.

“At the University we aim to bring out each students’ individual talent where some may choose to go into other related areas such as theater and TV costume and journalism.

“The University of Lincoln is one of a few universities in the country to offer millinery as a specialist subject, so our students are truly able to produce a complete look.”

Dagmara, who works in the department headed by Senior Lecturer and BA (Hons)  Programme Leader Victoria Bellandini, added that the university’s 2nd Year students will also be contributing to LFW by showing a static display of their work in the Waterside Shopping Centre during LFW. This will take place from 10-17th May.

There’s also good news from Lincoln BIG Director and owner of Home, Craft, The Curiosity Shop and Moka, John Donoghue who is also sponsoring our glittering LFW finale in Lincoln Cathedral – by providing a glass of Prosecco for ticket holders. Cheers!

“We have four businesses in the city, including Home, which has its own good facilities for staging fashion shows and other events and I was keen to support Lincoln BIG at LFW finale by providing the bubbly,” said John.

“Things don’t just happen in Lincoln and I am pleased to support the Business Improvement Group with what it is doing.”

The LFW Finale promises to be a really dazzling affair in a fantastic setting. Lincoln BIG doesn’t want anyone to miss out, so it is urging fashion lovers to book their tickets now by going online at:
